Drupal

Drupal is known as a content management system (CMS) and was written using the PHP scripting language. It represents the platform used to develop around a quarter of all government websites in the United States. It is not restricted to government use, however, and is one of the most popular web development software packages in the world and has incarnations in over 100 different human languages. It began development in 2001 and has since been used to develop many well-known websites, including the White House site.

How This Tool Can Benefit Small Business

From a business standpoint, Drupal carries many benefits. It is open-source, which means that it can be used freely by anyone. Additionally, it is one of the few CMSs that allows cross-platform functionality and is used for both Windows as well as Linux. Drupal community members are active in its development because of its open-source designation, which has resulted in the creation of dozens of modules that automate many of the more tedious processes that go into web design. Most amazing of all, no background in programming is needed to make websites using the software.
