If your audience is people with office jobs, you’ll want to aim to send marketing emails between “7:00 a.m and 10:00 a.m.” If your company is marketing to college kids, the optimal time to send marketing emails is between “8:00 p.m. and midnight.” And, if your audience is part of the “Baby Boomer generation,” you’ll want to schedule marketing emails between “5:00 a.m and 7:00 a.m.”

WordStream also states that if you’re “targeting the young, tech-obsessed crowd,” evening emails may be more successful than during the workday. If you’re targeting customers outside of standard work hours, like most B2C businesses, evening may also be a great time to send marking emails as that demographic tends to read emails on their phones at night.

They also suggest avoiding Mondays. And, based on their own research, WordStream feels that the best time for sending marketing emails is on Thursday between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. They are seeing 25% open rates during that time frame.

According to Medium, if you want to get traffic to your blog, then aim for “Mondays at 11:00” in the morning. If you want comments from your readers, try publishing your posts on “Saturdays at 9:00 a.m.” If you are hoping to get inbound links, Mondays and Thursdays around “7:00 a.m.” is the ideal time for publishing blog posts.

According to HubSpot, generally, the best times for posting on social media no matter what industry or platform is between “6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.” And, they think the best day to post on social media is Friday.

However, other sources determine that the best times for posting on social media really vary depending on platform. 

The American Marketing Association has compiled a list of the best times to post on several popular social media platforms:

  • Facebook: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. 
  • Instagram: Tuesdays between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. And, Monday through Friday after 11:00 a.m.
  • Twitter/X: Weekdays around 8:00 a.m.
  • LinkedIn: Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 9:00 a.m.
